Working with an experienced LGBT counsellor can help you develop healthy self-esteem and confidence

We often face an extraordinary number of challenges throughout our lives. Navigating LGBT culture, shame, body image, self-esteem, work-life balance, family and relationships are all complicated experiences. These experiences can have a profound effect on you. You may be feeling depressed, suffering from anxiety, or struggling to feel confident and happy with yourself and your life. Talking to an LGBT counsellor can help you to feel accepted and confident in who you are.

LGBT Counsellor

I specialise in supporting individuals who identify as LGBT+ in addressing issues connected with self-esteem, self-worth and acceptance.

If you are feeling sad, depressed, anxious, insecure, or are struggling to cope - you are not alone. I can help you address issues that are causing you emotional pain, giving you cause for concern, or making you feel uncomfortable. Whether you may be confronting difficult situations, facing challenging decisions, or healing from old wounds, my work with you will help you achieve your goals and help you to cut through to the root issue that needs to be addressed.

I am here to empathise, remain non-judgmental, understand your unique experiences, and to challenge the self-limiting beliefs that keep you from achieving the quality of life you deserve. I care about what you have to say and provide an accepting and safe environment. Together we shall take the time to explore your thoughts, reflect on your life, feelings and behaviours, relationships or work challenges to get you to a place where you want to be.

It is my strong belief that it is the relationship or therapeutic alliance between client and counsellor that ultimately heals. I enjoy working with anyone who seeks positive change. As an LGBT counsellor and a gay man myself, I know first-hand the challenges that LGBT individuals face. That means, I also know how to avoid the heteronormative blind spots that straight counsellors sometimes are unaware of. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to reach out to a professional LGBT counsellor who works with the LGBT community and understands what you are going through.
