Gay Counselling for Depression and Other Gay Issues

Homosexual depression may also be a problem because many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people feel uncomfortable coming out and discussing issues pertinent to homosexuality. The signs of depression in LGBT people are the same as seen in others. Signs of depression include: difficulty in concentrating or making decisions; depressed mood; an inability to feel pleasure; changes in sleeping and eating patterns; and sense of worthlessness. It's worth noting that gay and lesbian depression may be made worse due to interpersonal, family rejection, internalised homophobia, religion and societal stigma.
